If you have purchased re-usable electrodes they can be used several times. Skin must be allowed to breathe so the pads should be removed periodically. When not in use place the pads on the clear plastic shield and put in a tightly sealed plastic zip-lock bag.
The condition of the electrodes does affect the conductivity and performance of the TENS / EMS unit. When the pads initially lose their adhesive quality, it is possible to reactivate their adhesion by applying a fine, light spray of water. Shake off any excess water and allow to air dry for 1-2 minutes before reapplying.
Once the pads have finally lost their effective adhesive quality, they should be replaced to keep the unit operating correctly.
Electrodes must be applied to clean and dry skin, free of oil or body lotions.
Do not apply to areas of sore or inflamed skin, or to skin with absent or reduced sensation.
Do not place the electrodes on the head, neck, over the heart or inside the body.
Do not wear electrodes when showering, bathing or swimming.
Store electrodes at room temperature and keep out of direct sunlight.
Always switch off the machine before removing the electrodes.
Remove the electrodes from the skin by pulling the edge of the electrode, not the wire.
Avoid touching the gel as much as possible.
If skin irritation occurs discontinue use and notify your doctor or therapist.
